A number of dealers and distributors of African-published books are also included, as are links to some of the major (Pan-African) book prizes and awards, book fairs and other book promotional events, as well as a number of African literary magazines and blogs that focus on cultural and literary production in Africa.
The links collection is periodically updated. Links are deleted when we were unable to verify that the organizations were still active, where websites have been down for more than six months, or would appear to be permanently down. However, it should be noted that, for a variety of reasons, some Africa-based websites tend to suffer from frequent downtime—which can sometimes be a matter of days, weeks, or months. In some cases, the website may be down (temporarily or otherwise) but the Facebook page is still up, and in which case the link has been retained.
A number of new links/organizations have been added in February 2025, and links to eight organizations have been deleted as their websites could not be reached, and/or came up with ‘not found’ messages.
